Faith does not need to push the river because faith is able to trust that there is a river. The river is flowing. We are in it.
– Richard Rohr –

If one has failed to develop curiosity and interest in the early years, it is a good idea to acquire them now, before it is too late to improve the quality of life.
To do so is fairly easy in principle, but more difficult in practice. Yet it is sure worth trying. The first step is to develop the habit of doing whatever needs to be done with concentrated attention, with skill rather than inertia. Even the most routine tasks, like washing dishes, dressing, or mowing the lawn become more rewarding if we approach them with the care it would take to make a work of art. The next step is to transfer some psychic energy each day from tasks that we don’t like doing, or from passive leisure, into something we never did before, or something we enjoy doing but don’t do often enough because it seems too much trouble. There are literally millions of potentially interesting things in the world to see, to do, to learn about. But they don’t become actually interesting until we devote attention to them.
– Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi – Finding Flow

So it is said, for him who understands Heavenly joy, life is the working of Heaven; death is the transformation of things. In stillness, he and the yin share a single Virtue; in motion, he and the yang share a single flow.
– Zhuang So it is said, for him who understands Heavenly joy, life is the working of Heaven; death is the transformation of things. In stillness, he and the yin share a single Virtue; in motion, he and the yang share a single flow.

I keep thinking
that poetry is something else:
A form of love that exists only in silence,
in a secret place between two people,
almost always between two strangers
– José Emilio Pacheco –

I want to write my secret across your sky.
I want your touches to scar me so I’ll know where you’ve been.
I want to reach my hand into the dark
and feel what reaches back.
I want to taste my own kind.
I want you to come on strong.
I want the exact same thing but different.
And I want and I want and I want and I will always be hungry.

There’s a lover in the story
But the story’s still the same
There’s a lullaby for suffering
And a paradox to blame
But it’s written in the scriptures
And it’s not some idle claim
You want it darker
We kill the flame …

I would rather die of passion than of boredom.

… heavens and hells
Part of this sea of life
… when the tide is right,
We shall cross paths again
When the ocean sings our song.
